The rooms may be small but they are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food at the hotel was absolutely delicious, with imaginative and perfectly prepared dishes.- The hosts were excellent and made us feel very welcome.- The hotel's location in the Lake District is perfect for a quiet stay.
The rooms are on the smaller side, so if you prefer larger bedrooms, this may not be the hotel for you.

The hotel was set just off the main road in it's own grounds that were simple but nicely kept. The town was only a short walk away with lots of eating places. The hotel was undergoing some building work to new accomodation but this did not cause any disturbance to our stay. The room was homely and well decorated in a way that I enjoy in my own home. The bed linen was of a very good quality cotton and a lovely firm bed. Every thing was at hand to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was very well cooked. I had scrambled eggs that were cooked to my taste. Breakfast was ample. The hotel has the option of a evening meal in the restaraunt, but we chose to eat out as we only wanted a main course and not a three course meal. We used the old lamp house for our evening meal as I just had the need for a good steak and was not disapointed. I would book again but for a longer stay next time. Thank you for a pleasant stay

Very attentive service. Everything was spotless. Nice garden. Trditional english breakfast.
The lounge was a bit to small. If the place were fully booked, there wouldn´t be not enough sitting facilities. Generally speaking hotel accomodation in the lake district aerea is relativly expensive. But for this two star hotel we find the rates very high. No a la carte dining is offered, only a complete menue. Yes, you can get the Main course only, but this will cost you 30 pounds, which we find it is not worth. But you dont have to have dinner at the hotel. So eat anywhere else, if you you are not so hungry to have a complete three course dinner.

Stayed at the lovely Cedar Manor Guest House. The attention to detail was exceptional, from the personalized tea caddy in the beautiful room to the powerful shower in the fully tiled bathroom. The hosts, Jonathon and Caroline, were wonderful and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They allowed us to check in early, gave great advice, and even helped us find a restaurant. The location was perfect, within walking distance to town. a truly special experience.
Could not be improved in any way! 🌟

A Relaxing Break at Cedar Manor
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming boutique hotel nestled in a beautiful location. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and well-cared for by the attentive staff at Cedar Manor. The hotel itself exuded a cozy and chic atmosphere, with its tastefully decorated rooms that were both clean and comfortable. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the dining experience, with delicious meals that left me satisfied and impressed. The hotel's lounge/bar area provided the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring, and the well-maintained grounds added to the overall serene ambiance.
Although there were a couple of minor drawbacks, such as the low shower head and the limited space in the room, they did not significantly detract from the overall positive experience. Additionally, the hotel's WiFi could be temperamental at times, but it was manageable.

Owners were very nice. We were on our honeymoon and asked for a bit later check-out and they (a bit reluctantly) gave us an additional 30 mins. However, we asked about having breakfast in the room given the early breakfast hours (by 9:30) and they were very accomodating and brought it up to the room themselves. Area is gorgeous; walk to lakes and town was great (very long walk). They made a point of telling us later that they were instituting room service in the Fall.
While the funishings were lovely and the bed very comfortable (we had an executive room) we were a bit disappointed by the size of the room--the pictures online made it look like much bigger than it was (a bit cramped). The bathroom was very cramped--you could not get around to the sink without shutting the door completely. A shower curtain around the "airbath" tub would have helped to contain the water from showering as well! What put us off, though, was the owner jumping immediately to asking us what time we wanted booked into the restaurant at checkin (an automatic assumption) prior to even telling us about breakfast (which came with the room). As it happens, we had pre-booked the restaurant (seems he should have familiarized himself with his incoming guests' reservation). He was a bit too keen to get a restaurant reservation over finishing the check-in, we thought. Other than that time, he and his wife were very pleasant and helpful. Realizing it is the Lake District, we still thought the price for the room (204 w/ vat) was steep for what we got.

The Hotel was clean, comfortable and a warm welcome on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was excellent and the bed very comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful. A quiet and relaxing hotel with good advice on the surrounding places to visit. The food is quite simply Divine. Breakfast was all you ask for and dinner...... well, try it for yourself.

Very friendly atmosphere. Liked large hot towels in bathroom!
Would prefer slightly larger room but probably typical for style of building
